In maths this half term we have been looking at the place value of three digit numbers. We have been using base 10, place value counters, whole part models and partitioning to represent three digit numbers in different ways!

We have been playing games by setting algorithms to make the planes take off. We then had to debug by fixing the mistakes that had been made.
Year 3 have had a fantastic start to the school year. We have worked hard in English and Maths and been archaeoligists and cave men in topic.
We had the chance to investigate The Blitz from both British and German perspectives. We looked at how Britain had to try and tackle a continuous onslaught of German bombing raids, evacuating children to the countryside and also enforcing blackouts. Year 5 have been working hard this morning solving puzzles using Roman numerals. Here’s a snapshot of today’s maths lesson.
We have had a busy, fun first week back. We have been using adverbs to describe different verbs, improving boring sentences, completing a science experiment and using different equipment to represent a number. The children have all really settled in well to Year 2 and have been working really hard 😃
What was life like for an evacuee during World War 2? We looked at images to try and infer what evacuees were thinking, feeling and how they would act during the war. We were so happy to reach 20 marbles in Bluebells, it meant that we were able to pick a treat. We all decided to go to Queen’s Park and we were so excited!! Luickily it didn’t not rain and we were able to go this afternoon. We had lots of fun!
We had a fantastic day at the safari park on Wednesday. We saw lots of animals and had an animal workshop. Everyone was really well behaved and made Miss Longmire proud, well done Bluebells!
