Times Table Tarsia

Year 5 have been working on their 7, 8, 9 times table. The challenge was to create a hexagon using the triangles. The triangles had a mixture of questions and answers on their sides which the children had to match up. Great preparation for out next task which was competing on the  Times Table Rockstars website.

Separating Materials

This afternoon we have been learning about using different scientific processes to separate materials. We used sieving, filtering and evaporation to separate a solution of gravel, sand, water and salt. We worked together in groups to decide which order we would separate the materials and what equipment we would need to carry out the investigation. We now know how filter paper acts as a mini sieve the separate very tiny particles from a solution.

World book day

The children had a fantastic time during World book day. They all looked amazing in their outfits. A big well done to Harrison for winning a prize for his costume where he was dressed as Grandpa Joe. During English we went into the immersive room which was turned into different scenes from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Super Smoothies!

This week in Bluebells, we have been talking about how we can keep our bodies healthy to become even stronger superheroes. We have been discussing different fruit and vegetables and how many we should eat a day. To help us eat lots of different fruit we decided to make some super smoothies! World book day

After 2 snow days we had a fantastic time for World book day! Our classroom was made into the tunnel room where children had to climb through a tunnel to get in or out of the classroom. We then went into the immersive room and had a look at different parts of the story.

World Book Day Fun!

We had lots of fun today in our World Book Day costumes! There were lots of different characters in year three including Oompa Loompa’s, Charlie, Willy Wonker, Harry Potter and many more! See who you can spot! We enjoyed writing a description about Wonka’s amazing chocolate factory, experiencing the different scenes of the story in the immersive room , designing our own factory and inventing our own special sweets and chocolate!      

World book day

We had lots of world book day fun in Buttercups today! We read lots of our favourite stories, we found some hidden golden tickets and we visited the immersive room which had been turned into Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory. We discussed the story and looked at all of the rooms in the chocolate factory. The children loved the bubble room the best!
