Wow, what a fantastic week! The children have worked sooooooooo hard but all their hard work has paid off & they have done so well on their SATs. They should be very proud 😎 As promised we finished the week with a fun Friday.

Everybody looks brilliant today dressed in red, white and blue for the Royal Wedding tomorrow. We have had a lovely day learning about the Royal Family and reading lots of stories about the Royal Family too (we even read about the Queen’s knickers). The stories were very funny! We have had lots of fun today celebrating the Royal Wedding but we’ve also been very worried about our class teddy bear, Beth. Beth has been missing all day and no one has seen her. For our early morning work, children were challenged to find ‘oi’ and ‘oy’ words in their word searches today. We found it lots of fun and managed to find lots of words within the letters!
We have been learning about traditional tales in literacy. Jack and the Beanstalk was one of our favourite stories and we have been doing lots of work around it. We have learnt how to retell the story and been doing lots of writing around the story. In our R.E. lessons this half term we have been reading lots of different bible stories. Noah’s Ark and Joseph’s Coat were our favourites. We made a promise rainbow from Noah’s Ark and we recreated Joseph’s coat of many colours – have a look at our brilliant work.
Year 4 went to Queen’s Park for science today to find all the different types of flowers that grow there. Before we went, we predicted what type of flowers we would find and why the conditions of Queen’s Park are good for growing a variety of different plants. Here are some snapshots of our work.
Today we became stuck on a desert island. We found some messages in bottles which got us thinking about what we need to survive and non-essentials.
