On Hello Yellow Day, we had a fantastic time learning about the 5 Ways to Wellbeing – Connect, Be Active, Take Notice, Keep Learning, and Give. As a class we practised actions linked to these five important steps, helping us understand how we can look after our minds and feel good each day. We have loved taking our Geography learning about weather outdoors into our Forest school lessons. Take a look at our lesson about wind, in which we made wind-catchers, and our lesson on rain, in which we made umbrellas. We are really enjoying our outdoor learning!
Today, the whole school celebrated Hello Yellow to raise money for the amazing Children’s Mental Health Charity. All classes talked about the importance of good mental health and well-being, and what we can do to maintain good mental health. Each class reminded themselves of the 5 Ways To Wellbeing- connect, be active, keep learning, take notice, give- and completed activities based around these. Thank you to everyone who donated.
Today Year 3 Birch class have been discussing how we can help our mental well being. They came up with some wonderful ideas together as a class and took part in some mindful colouring.
Well-being team have fan a smiley face hunt today children that were able to find a smiley face got a sticker and a prize we were so happy that so many children joined in
Pine and Juniper have been using the program 2design and make to create some of their own 3D models. We have investigated all the different functions of the program, planned a package to make for a chosen target audience and made our 3D models.
Throughout the Autumn term, Year 5 Juniper and Pine have been working on a topic in Science called ‘Separating Mixtures’. The children have learnt about what a pure substance is and what a mixture is. They have learnt lots of different ways in which mixtures can be separated, such as filtration and evaporation. Today the children have been using charcoal and other prehistoric media to create their own animal drawings which our ancestors may have drawn. We had to try drawing in the dark as we know that caves didn’t have much light. We enjoyed getting alittle messy!
Today we are celebrating Hello Yellow, we have focused on our 5 ways to well-being and completed some activities. We have moved our bodies, we have given money to charity, time to one another and ourselves and we have also connected with our minds, bodies and each other. Just some of our well being ways! We have also enjoyed our colourful clothes today and some fun activities to celebrated today!
