Year 2 had a great morning visiting the Neeli Mosque in Rochdale. They learnt so much and were fantastic at sharing what we have been learning in our RE lessons too.
Year 3 have had lots of fun during Computer club. They have: played Minecraft coding Completed coding games on the IPad played snakes and ladders using the beet bots used the micro:bits following on from their DT lessons played games on Purple Mash Well done to the Digital Leaders as well that have been helping out each week.
This week, Year 6 supported Miss Lomax in teaching PE. As we have been doing athletics this half-term, the Year 6 children each decided upon, and set up a station. The year 1 children spent time in each group and the Year 6 children supported them in improving their skills. This half term, Year 1 were focussing on ‘Woven Wonders’. We discussed Is it art? Thinking about how art is not just something we draw or paint but can be something made from different materials and patterns. Year 2 have had the best day on our class trip to Imagine that. We have made lots of fun things and done loads of exciting activities. Well done to all the children who were very well behaved.
Year 2 had a fantastic time at Imagine That. They made slime, snow, magnets and bath bombs.
This week Reception have been reading the story ‘Goldilocks and the Three Bears’. Reception have been retelling the story and acting it out. Everyone has also taste tested different flavours of porridge, thought of their own adjectives and written an adjective for each porridge. They tasted a lemon, grapefruit, chocolate and syrup porridge. The chocolate one was definitely the favourite!
Year 5 have finished our architecture art unit by designing our own monuments. The children looked at famous monument examples and thought about how they would like to be represented. We then brought our ideas to life, annotating them to show what our monument means. We have also studied a famous artist / architect, Friedensreich Hundertwasser, and created artist profile pages. We researched facts about Hundertwasser and presented the information using his style of artistry.
