Travelling Science Show
This afternoon Year 2 took part in a fantastic Science show with the Scientist Adrian Bowden. We completed lots of different science experiments and looked at some Science vocabulary like: predict, classify, test and measure.

This half term Year 5 are going to be creating ‘doodlers’ using a motorised circuit. We have identified the different components and investigated how to create a simple series circuit. The children had lots of fun when they were able to power their fans.
Year 4 Maple currently go to Heywood Sports Village every Monday afternoon for their swimming lesson. They are all doing really well and making lots of progress. Here are some of them with their most recent certificates of achievement and are ready to progress onto the next stage.
It was Anti-Bullying Week this week and in Year 1 we have discussed what bullying means and the different ways we can get help during our class assemblies. The theme for Anti-Bullying is to ‘Choose Respect’ and we talked about different ways we can show respect instead of being unkind. This week across school we have been taking part in Anti-Bullying Week. Well done to our KS2 pupils that took part in the Rochdale Sports partnership tenpin bowling competition. They came fourth and Isabelle received a special certificate for scoring over 100 points! We were also delighted to receive our equal schools award for commitment to girls sport and pendant for our School Games gold mark.
This half term children will be having forest school. They had a great first session. Please bring outdoor clothes and a change of shoes on our forest school days
This week, as a school, we have taken part in Anti-bullying week. This years theme has been ‘Choose Respect’ our Anti-bullying Ambassadors completed an assembly about the week and everyone had the chance to show off their odd socks! Across school we completed activities based on the theme. We have discussed how to show respect to everyone around us. We have also spoken about the importance of being respectful both on and offline.
This morning Pine have been recalling previous learning about nouns. Their recollection of the different types of noun and being able to give examples was absolutely brilliant! Well done everyone!
In English this half-term, we have been re-writing ‘The 3 Little Pigs.’ Each day we have focussed on improving adjectives and verbs within the story, as well as structuring our sentences well.
