In Art today, the children had to trace an imagine from our current English book ‘ The Incredible Book Eating Boy’ into one square of a quadrant, they then continued flipping and tracing into the next square of the quadrant until the ‘flip pattern’ was complete. The results looked amazing!

This afternoon, Maple have been mark making with charcoal. We experimented with different textures and effects to try and express the meaning of some words. We had great fun trying to ‘draw’ anger, sadness and happiness to name a few!
We have had lots of fun designing and painting our African masks. Once they were dry we then practised an African dance, once we practised it a few times we then did the dance with our masks and we did amazing!
Year 4 had an amazing Viking experience day making jewellery, shields, Thor’s hammer and Viking Oatcakes. Over the last couple of weeks, Year 5 have been working together to create some fantastic collage Art, which is proudly being displayed in the school hall. Year 4 Hawthorn, designed, planned and created their own Saxon homes using a variety of different resources. The children worked in groups to create the a sturdy home for the Anglo-Saxons to live in. Well done.
