On Friday, the children were wearing their clothes inside and we discussed how people can sometimes feel differently on the inside to how they seem on the outside. This week Year 2 revised their knowledge of sentence types and suffixes through outdoor active lessons. We played Formula 1 Suffixes, speeding through an obstacle course to retrieve a route word to take back to our groups, before deciding which suffixes it connect with and working together to spell the Read more…
Children in oaks loved the number fun lessons! We had an exciting few lessons outside where they had to jump over hurdles and find the answer to calculations. The children loved running round and working out these problems. Well done Oaks.
Today, the whole school celebrated NSPCC Number day by coming to school dressed as numbers and bringing a donation for the NSPCC. During forest school, year 6 have been making rafts. Today we went down to the river at Queen’s Park to race our rafts. We had lots of fun and the children worked very well in their teams.
This week in forest school we have been using outdoor materials to make a cross. This is going to be part of a hall display for the Christian value – forgiveness.
This afternoon Year 5 worked well in teams to create some fantastic shelters. We talked about what would make a good shelter and how important team work is. We also talked about what we could do to resolve a problem. We were very impressed with how they worked cooperatively. The Read more…
Children loved gardening club today and enjoyed researching which plants are able to grow in winter conditions. We then went up to the garden and tidied the garden.
