Lifecycle of a frog
Pine have learnt all about the lifecycle of an amphibian today. We have compared the lifecycles of different amphibians and played a leap frog game to test our knowledge. We discussed in groups how temperature may affect an egg hatching and worked scientifically by using data to draw conclusions.
Mae Jemison
This week is Careers Week at St Luke’s with a focus on engineering and in Pine today we have been looking into the life of Mae Jemison – the first African-American black woman to become an astronaut. During our lesson we held a press conference for Mae. Children took on the role of being Mae Jemison and answered questions from other class members. The children displayed some excellent confident formal speaking and asked some fantastic questions – Why is engineering important in space? What skills do you need to be successful?
