As part of The Linking Project, Year 4 were invited to join a live poetry lesson with other schools from around the UK. It was led by a poet called Joseph Coelho and during the session, we thought about the questions, ‘Who am I?’ and ‘Who are we?’, with Joseph sharing his thoughts and writing with us.
Before the half term holidays, Year 4 learnt how to add and subtract 4 digit numbers. Today we revised that skill after a week off by taking part in a teach active lesson. We had to walk round the room with out talk partners and answer the questions at the different stations.
Children loved learning about how to make money. We spoke about the different ways we could receive or earn money and then created our own shop to buy items from it. They handled he money and chose an item each to buy. They absolutely loved this and continued to play with it for the rest of the afternoon.
This morning, Year 1 have throughly enjoyed their Dojo Treat morning for having such a brilliant first half term. The children enjoyed a carousel of activities relating to their they have completed this half term. Well done to all children!
This afternoon, we have enjoyed lots of different activities working on team work which has been our Skills Builder focus this half term. We worked hard to listen to one another, share our ideas and be respectful to one another.
Year 3 have been doing some fabulous learning on the Stone Age this half term. They really enjoyed this Art lesson when they collected natural materials from outside and used them creatively to create artwork. They then created a textured piece of cardboard to act as a cave wall.
Year 3 Birch have been learning how money works for Financial Awareness week. The children have been working out how much change is left over from different amounts.
Year 6 Rowan achieved over 500 dojos this term. We had a class vote in what they would like for their treat day. As a class, we decided on an own clothes day, Kahoot time on the iPads and a film with snacks afternoon. Year 6 had such a fun day!
As a reward for a fantastic first half-term in Year 1, and receiving enough dojos, Year 1 have enjoyed a treat morning. They put their creative skills to the test, completing leaf pictures, Autumn colouring and biscuit decorating. Well done on a fantastic start to Year 1! All the staff are very proud of all your hard work this half-term.
