Festivals – Diwali and Bonfire Night

In Reception we looked at different festivals that are celebrated throughout the year and how they are celebrated. We learned about the hindu festival of light ‘Diwali’ and ‘bonfire night’, we compared how they are celebrated and completed some crafts around this. We made firework pictures, Diva lamps, Rangoli patterns, watched a fireworks display and even moved like fireworks in PE, it was lots of fun!          

A visit to the M6 theatre

This year, Year 4 are taking part in ‘The Linking Project’. We have been partnered with Marland Hill Community Primary School and today we got to meet our partner class for the first time. Wellbeing Workshop

Today, Year 5 Juniper have carried out a Wellbeing Workshop. The children were able to spend time in The Rush Room with staff from their class and a lady called Jenny who led the workshop on wellbeing. This week, Year 5 Juniper have taken part in a MoneySense workshop in relation to our finance week. Shared learning and Lunch

Thank you to all the parents and grandparents who came to our shared lunch and learning. The children had so much fun (and I hope the adults did, too). This week, we had 2 special visitors from Natwest bank who came into school to talk to us about money. We completed three different activities. We have been learning about light this half term. We used our enquiry skills to learn what light is and how we can see objects. What the difference between day and night is. Which materials are reflective. How shadows are formed and how the size of shadows can be formed.

Finance Week – We are fraud investigators!
