Lego Club

This half term, I have had the pleasure of hosting a Lego club for some of our Year 1 &2 children. They have used their creativity and team work skills each week to create their Lego creations. The children had a topic focus each week of ideas they could use to build. The last week the children create their own creations using the Lego. (RRSA Articles 31, 15) .

Plant lifecycle

Recap and recall: We started our lesson by identifying the missing letters for our key vocabulary. It was amazing to see how many children remembered and understood words like germinate. Science at home Week 9 – Orange Fizz!

This week, some of our children became kitchen chemists as they took part in the exciting “Orange Fizz” experiment at home. Using just an orange and a little baking soda, the children explored how acids and bases react to create fizzy carbon dioxide bubbles. Year 4 Lowry trip

Year 4 had a fantastic time on their school trip to the Lowry! We started the day with a drawing workshop, where we created our own portrait sketches inspired by the style of Quentin Blake. At lunchtime, we enjoyed our dinner overlooking the beautiful Salford Quays. In the afternoon, we took part in a fun-filled acting workshop inspired by Roald Dahl, which everyone thoroughly enjoyed!

Pine and PE

This week, Pine enjoyed an exciting PE athletics lesson where they practised over arm throws, baton passing and working as part of a team. The children worked hard to improve their throwing technique, focusing on aiming and following through, before moving on to relay activities where they practised passing the baton smoothly and safely. Jack and the Beanstalk

Runaway Train

This week we have been reading the Runaway Train book. We had lots of fun creating a class train display for our wall and we’ve loved looking at our photos.
