Greater Manchester Dance Festival

After winning the Rochdale Dance Festival, St Luke’s were invited to attend the Greater Manchester Dance Festival at The Edge in Wigan. Animals around the world

In Geography, we have been learning about animals from around the world. In today’s lesson, we used the internet to research a variety of animals in preparation for creating a fact file on a chosen animal next week. We explored key questions such as: “Where do they live?”, “What do they eat?”, and “What are their babies called?” We worked really using our skills builders teamwork, speaking and listening.

My school community

Pine have discussed this afternoon what we mean by ‘community’. The children worked in groups to produce posters which detailed what it means to them to be part of the school community.

Herbivore, Carnivore or Omnivore?

This week in science, we learnt all about animal diets. We explored three important terms: carnivores, herbivores, and omnivores. Cookery Club Week 5 – Easter nests

This week in Cookery Club, we had great fun making Easter nests using puff pastry, chocolate spread, and mini eggs.  The children learned how to handle and shape puff pastry into nest forms, developing their precision and fine motor skills. A group of Year 5 children have continued their scientific journey at Rochdale Town hall. We are involved in a project with other Rochdale schools to investigate an aspect of renewable energy.
