Crucifixion

In todays lesson we explored what does the crucifying of Jesus mean to us? We looked at the story of Pilate condemning Jesus and Jesus being crucified. We reflected on Jesus’ sacrifice and thought about the sacrifices we have made in our lives. We then re created the story of the crucifixion through drama and came up with some fantastic pieces. Well done Year 3!

British Science Week – Willows

We have loved British science week this week; we have been learning about different scientists and the different types of scientists, we have looked at ‘smashing stereotypes’ in science and how anybody could be a scientist. We also learnt about connections and discussed how we can connect with others, we talked about how we could communicate with people across the world. We then did an experiment; we made plastic cup telephones and played games to Read more…

British Science Week

This week we have been talking about British science week. The children have discussed what science is and how it is all around us. Reception have been learning about flowers. We have been naming different flowers and learning the different parts of a flower. One of our favourite flowers are the tulips! We have been very busy this week investigating what flowers and plants need to grow. The children came up with their own ideas Read more…

We also used a square lashing knot to make a cross. The children also made emotions using Read more…

Water-powered Rockets!!!

As part of British Science Week, Year 6 created water-powered rockets, looking at energy stores, how energy changes from one store to another, and how rockets are designed to fly more efficiently. After designing and building our rockets, we part-filled them with water and used a pump to build up pressure, eventually forcing the water out of the bottom of the bottle, and firing the rocket into the air.

Finding Missing Angles

Year 6 looked at solving problems by finding missing angles. We had 16 envelopes with different levels of challenging questions, earning more points by challenging ourselves to try and tackle the most difficult questions. Our work to solve the problems was excellent and we were really able to demonstrate our angle knowledge.

British Science Week- Parachute Investigation

For British Science Week we investigated air resistance to link to our topic of Forces and the theme Connections. We looked at what the purpose of a parachute was and how the force of air resistance slows it down. We used a range of different materials to see which material was the most effective to allow the air to push up on the parachute and slow it down. We recorded our results in a table.
