Let it grow

Year 5 will be recording the growth of Carrots, raddishs and spring onions in our science lessons. We haw changed some of the variables to see if plants need more water, light or warmth to grow. Here are some pictures of what we did.

Rocket fuel experiment

This afternoon we made explosive rocket fuel for our experiement. We wanted to see how high rocket fuel could shoot so we mixed different amounts of coke and mentos and watched what happened. We recorded our results in a table. The children were very excited!

More fun with sound: We completed a science experiment to see how the amount of water in a glass container effects the sound. We also went out in the lovely sunshine to experiment using a string telephone.

Frogspawn 🐸

Beat, band, boogie

This week we have been making music using purple mash and we have been on a sound hunt around school. We went on a walk around school and around the school grounds. We loved working outside in the lovely weather this week.
