Another fantastic week of science at home! There were some really brilliant examples of ‘milk art’. Well done everyone 😊
This week in science, we learnt all about animal diets. We explored three important terms: carnivores, herbivores, and omnivores. Carnivores are animals that eat meat, herbivores eat plants, and omnivores eat both plants and meat. Just like real scientists, we carried out our own research to learn more about what different animals eat. We discovered interesting facts and shared our findings with the class. It was exciting to investigate and think like scientists while learning Read more

A group of Year 5 children have continued their scientific journey at Rochdale Town hall. We are involved in a project with other Rochdale schools to investigate an aspect of renewable energy. Our children have decided to try to answer the question: If our school was to buy solar panels, where would be the best place to put them? We have borrowed some scientific equipment to carry out this investigation and will be using mini Read more
Pine have learnt all about the lifecycle of an amphibian today. We have compared the lifecycles of different amphibians and played a leap frog game to test our knowledge. We discussed in groups how temperature may affect an egg hatching and worked scientifically by using data to draw conclusions.
What another fantastic effort from our pupils this week at home. Some wonderful science experimenting going on! Well done everyone, you really rose to the challenge of making water rise.
This week, our story is “The Little Gardener”. We have learnt about what is needed to care for a garden and keep plants growing. We have been enjoying exploring a variety of tuff trays filled with exciting activities. We especially loved creating flower potions and perfume at the potion station, where we had fun transferring ingredients and making “milkshakes.” We enjoyed spending time in our small world garden, using our imaginations to explore and play.
